About FLCA
Family Life Christian Academy began in 1981 as a result of a vision given to the
founding pastor Francis Martin. This vision was for the families of the church… to
relieve their children of the burden of public education and their humanistic
philosophy.
The pastor and the elders of Family Life Church govern this school system. The
elders determine policies for FLCA and direct a School Pastor to carry out its
policies.
The school's mission is to serve parents by guiding God's children toward a life of
responsive Christian discipleship. The people primarily accountable for
achieving this mission are teachers, however, the elders expect every participant
in this school-custodians, secretaries, volunteers, school department heads,
parents, pastors, students and grandparents-to support this aim. Although each
participant has a distinct role, FLCA expects each one to have this attitude. "If it
is to be, it's up to me.'
FLCA's mission is based on God's infallible Word, the Bible. All teachers must
subscribe to the statement of faith summarized in the Student Handbook.
